The Dorn Research Institute (DRI) is a 501(c)(3) corporation established at the Columbia VA Health Care System under the authority granted by the Department of Veterans Affairs to manage research funds locally. This unique public-private partnership dramatically broadens the VA's ability to conduct research.

Dorn Research Institute supports the researchers at the Columbia VA Health Care System by acting as a liaison between the VA and non-VA funding sources:

• Public institutions

• Private individuals

• Other governmental agencies, such as:

  • The Department of Defense

  • National Institutes of Health

  • National Science Foundation
